DEADLINE: March 14, 2011.
FUNDING: $5,000.

The UC Global Health Institute is inviting applications for the One Health Student Summer Research Program, which enables graduate and professional students throughout the University of California system an opportunity to experience the One Health Center of Expertise approach to global health research. One Health is a practical and innovative approach to global health challenges that recognizes the interconnections among humans, animals and their shared environment as well as the economic, cultural and physical factors that influence
health. In California or globally, larger and more sustainable health benefits are likely to result if research and interventions are collaborative across these human, animal (domestic and wildlife), and ecosystem health sectors rather than individually targeted at each of these factors individually and in isolation from each other.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be registered as a graduate or professional student at a UC campus throughout the summer of 2011, and must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 at the time of award.
