The Curtin LOTE Scholarship is intended to reward and assist students who have demonstrated academic excellence through their ATAR and studied a second language (language other than English) in Years 11 and 12 of high school.

Applicants must place Curtin University as their first TISC preference to undertake a Bachelor of Arts single or double degree with a major in either (Japanese) or (Chinese), and who will be completing their ATAR in 2011.

Eligibility:
# ELIGIBLE COURSES Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Chinese)
# Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Japanese)
# Bachelor of Arts Double degree with a major in either (Chinese) or (Japanese)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for the Curtin LOTE Scholarship:

# Completed Year 12 in 2011
# Have previously studied a language, other than English, in Years 11 and 12
# Have selected Curtin University as a first preference through TISC to undertake an eligible humanities degree
# Be undertaking the first semester of their first undergraduate degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2012
# Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian or Permanent Resident visa
# Be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported place

* Australian Citizen
* Australian Permanent Resident
* New Zealand Citizen
* Permanent Humanitarian Visa

Criteria:
# The scholarship will be awarded by a selection panel using the following criteria: 2011 ATAR results
# Academic merit
# Responses to questions in application
# Receipt of an offer of a place into eligible humanities undergraduate degree at Curtin University in 2012
