- Applicants for scholarships and academic research must have completed at least a B.A. degree.
- Students must be established in their course of study, and in a position to provide an assessment from a current academic supervisor.
Those applying for post-doctoral awards must have completed a doctoral degree.
- The majority of the funds available are zakat monies, and as such can only be granted to Muslim applicants, to enable them to carry out, in person, particular tasks, projects or courses of study.
- There are also funds that are available to assist non-Muslim scholars and projects administered by non-Muslim organizations.
