These scholarships are to reward excellence and encourage postgraduate study.
Tenure and Value
Two scholarships shall be offered annually. The value of the Scholarships shall be determined each year from the interest earned on the capital fund. Recipients of the Scholarship may hold it a second time, but only as a result of reapplication and fresh success in the selection process.
Eligibility
Candidates must:
“Have completed the Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree.
“Be enrolled in a full-time course of study at Massey University leading to the degree of MTech.
Criteria
The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of grade point average. Consideration will normally be given to students with a grade point average of 6.5 or B+ average or better.
Responsibility for the Award
The scholarship shall be awarded by the Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of the Academic Director of Engineering and Technology, or nominee, the Director of the School Engineering and Technology, or nominee, and the College of Science representative from the Scholarships Committee.
Payment
The scholarship shall be paid in two equal instalments in May and August.
Conditions of the Award
This scholarship is tenable with other scholarships provided that the regulations of the other scholarships allow. The University has the right to refrain from making an award in the event of there being no suitable applicants. At the discretion of the University, all or part of the annual interest may be reinvested to maintain the value of the capital funds.
