The Henry Rongomau Bennett scholarships are a tribute to Henry Rongomau Bennett’s life and work as the first Maori psychiatrist in Aotearoa. The purpose of the scholarship are to provide support for:
•Leadership in Maori health,
•Competence in te ao Maori and,
•Excellence in health.
The scholarships are offered to Maori undergraduate and postgraduate akonga and kaimahi who work or aspire to work in leadership roles in Maori health (health, mental health and addictions).

Undergraduate Scholarships;
The undergraduate scholarships will provide funding for completion of studies that lead to a qualification relevant to working in Maori health and community.
The undergraduate scholarships range from $1,000 – $5,000 each.

Postgraduate Scholarships;
The postgraduate scholarships will provide funding towards completion of studies including Masters or PhD level for people who work in (or plan to work in) Maori health.
The postgraduate scholarships range from $1,000-$10,000 each.
