Pacific Islands Polynesian Education Foundation promotes and encourages the better education of Polynesians and provides financial assistance for Polynesian people undertaking tertiary study here in New Zealand.
Purpose of award
Offered for the first time in 2009 the foundation is offering a $2,000 scholarship annually to Post Graduate students studying to benefit the Polynesian peoples.
Selection criteria
Applicants must provide proof of NZ residency or citizenship, Pacific Island descent, and proof that they are enrolled in postgraduate studies and have paid their fees. Each year a number of scholarships are not paid out because recipients fail to supply all the required documentation.

Applicants must provide:
1. Signed proof of ethnicity
2. NZ Citizenship (If applicable) Provide evidence (signed copies, not originals)
3. A Budget sheet (very important information, as it helps ascertain your financial hardship)
